BreadCrumb is a collaborative food discovery platform operated by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how BreadCrumb collects, uses, discloses, protects, and retains personal data in connection with the BreadCrumb website and mobile app.

We are committed to protecting personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

Personal Data We Collect

We may collect information you provide or generate while using BreadCrumb, including searches, filter choices, saved or suggested places, group-session activity, votes, reviews, ratings, recommendations, and other interactions where those features are available.

If you join a group session from the public website (for example via an invite link), we may store your chosen display name, votes, and suggestions in connection with that session, including when you participate using a browser-linked or anonymous sign-in supported by our authentication provider.

We may collect technical data such as IP address, device information, browser or app information, cookies, local storage identifiers, diagnostics, and usage logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

If you choose to use nearby or location-based features, your browser or device may provide location coordinates for that request. You can deny or revoke location access through your browser or device settings.

How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to provide and operate BreadCrumb, support collaborative sessions, display relevant food places and promotions, remember preferences, improve platform performance, secure the service, troubleshoot issues, and develop better user experiences.

We may use contact or usage information to communicate service-related information and, where permitted, promotions or updates that may be relevant to users.

Cookies And Similar Technologies

BreadCrumb uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to remember participant identifiers, preserve preferences, understand platform usage, and help provide a more seamless and personalized experience.

Cookies do not give BreadCrumb access to your device or personal files. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some collaborative or preference-based features may not work correctly without them.

Third-Party Services And Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We may share data only where necessary to operate the platform, comply with legal obligations, protect users, or work with service providers and partners.

BreadCrumb uses third-party services such as Supabase for hosting, backend storage, and realtime functionality, and Google Maps or Google Places services for maps, place information, and location-based features. These providers may process data according to their own policies.

We may disclose information to authorities, regulators, courts, or other parties where required by law or where necessary to protect legal rights, users, or the integrity of the platform.

Data Protection And Retention

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill business, operational, security, or legal purposes. Data used for analysis may be aggregated, anonymized, or deleted when it is no longer needed.

Subject to applicable law, including the PDPA, you may request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or withdraw consent to processing where consent is the legal basis.
